Note: Before fitting, disconnect the battery.

To fit any of our Speedo inserts requires the removal of the headset covers to access the speedometer.

Note: all of the screws accessed during this installation guide are self-tappers and are fixing into plastic, it is very important not to over tighten these screws or they will strip-out.

1. Once accessed, remove the four retaining screws holding the speedometer into the headset cover and unplug the wiring harness.

2. Once removed, place the speedometer face down on a flat surface protecting the face with a dry clean cloth.

3. Remove the six retaining self-tapping screws to the rear of the speedo unit and set aside. See image for location, the unit will now separate.

4. It’s very important to keep everything dust-free, once the unit is split.

5. Lay the unit face up and remove the clear acrylic lens cover.

6. Remove the existing plastic insert and set aside.

7. Install the new insert over the display ensuring everything is clean and dust-free.

8. Place the lens cover over the display, checking for any dust before inverting the unit back on to its face.

9. Replace the 6 self-tapping screws into their positions and the inset install is complete.

   Note: it’s a good idea to check the speedo display is dust-free before installing the unit back into the headset cover and replacing those covers back into position. I always pug the completed unit back into the wiring loom with the battery reconnected and switch on the ignition to illuminate the display.

10. Once you're happy and the unit is dust-free. Disconnect the battery and install the speedo back into the headset and reinstall the headset covers and you're done.
